Who is Dr. Jason Winkle?
Dr. Jason Winkle is a career educator with extensive teaching experience both nationally and internationally in leadership development. His is the founder and President of Athletes On Point, a player and team development consultancy focused on growing leaders of character through digital leadership resources.
In addition, he is the CEO of a not-for-profit located in Indiana. He served over 20 years in higher education as a professor, Director of Corrections Education, Associate Dean, and Interim Dean at Indiana State University.
As a civilian, Dr. Winkle formerly served as the Director of Combatives for the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York where he developed and delivered the Close Quarters Combat curriculum for the Corp of Cadets. He has conducted pre-deployment training for various military units and has provided tactical and leadership training for a variety of law enforcement agencies.
Dr. Winkle has an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, two master’s degrees in Theology and Sport Marketing, and a Ph.D. in Education Leadership. He has published several books, the latest being, The High Performance Athlete: Lessons from S.W.A.T., Special Operations, and Elite Athletes on Achieving Excellence in High-Pressure Situations.
Dr. Winkle has worked with dozens of coaches and athletic teams over the past twenty years in player development and building a leadership culture in their programs. He believes an intentional approach to leadership development not only enhances the Xs and Os, but is a force multiplier for creating a positive team culture.
In his rarely available free time, he enjoys long walks on the beach, folding laundry, and being ordered around by his wife. He regularly enlists his wife to assist with idea generation and editing his works.
